Election day is on Tuesday, November 4, less than one month away. On November 5, are you going to be looking at the results and wondering how the Republicans beat us? Not sure if you've noticed, but Elections have consequences, so make sure you, your family, your friends, and anyone else you can find gets out there and votes, and if you can, join one of our upcoming events to help candidates get elected.

MULTIPLE CANDIDATE DEBATES AND FORUMS TO CHECK OUT

Those who follow politics take a certain amount of candidate knowledge for granted, but so many voters don't know the candidates and aren't prepared to vote solely based on party affiliation. What are those folks supposed to do? Pay attention to the barrage of ads, mailers, and social media posts that come flying at us each day? Yuk!

One of the most popular ways for candidates to decide who to vote for are debates, town halls, and candidate forums, and believe it or not, there are several debates happening at both the state and local level this year. Here's the skinny on the debates:

GOVERNOR DEBATES
The candidates for Governor are required to take part in TWO debates.
One of those already happened on September 24.

The next one is coming up THIS WENDESDAY, Oct 8 at 7:00PM
The debate will be broadcast live on both WABC-TV and WPVI-TV Channel 6 in Philadelphia. There will be simultaneous streaming on all digital platforms including abc7ny.com and 6abc.com mobile apps, and streaming channels as well as ABC News Live. WXTV Univision 41 New York will livestream the debate with Spanish captioning.

ASSEMBLY FORUM
The candidates for State Assembly in Legislative District 11, including our candidates Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul participated in a candidate forum hosted by the League of Women Voters back on September 17.

COUNTY CLERK FORUM
The candidates for Monmouth County Clerk also participated in a League of Women Voters candidate forum, this one on Sept 29.

TINTON FALLS MAYOR AND COUNCIL FORUM
We've got an exciting election in our town this year. Three candidates are running to be mayor, and NINE candidates are running for three council seats. That's a lot for voters to think about. So the League of Women Voters is also hosting a candidate forum will all of these candidates.

Please note that the Tinton Falls municipal election is a non-partisan election, and in the interest of keeping it that way, the Tinton Falls Democratic Club is not endorsing any p​articular candidates, but we are endorsing the idea of being informed.

BBQ Fundraiser at
Mitch's House
September 29 for
Margie and Luanne
Mother nature fully cooperated with us when we hosted the fundraiser for Margie and Luanne last Monday. We had about 15 to 20 people show up, and a good informative and entertaining time was had by all.
​
Thanks to everyone who showed up and donated. I don't have the final number but we raised over $1000 for the campaigns.
​
I didn't take too many pics as I was busy service, etc, but here are a few shots from the event. If you weren't there, we missed you.
